1948 : Dior muse Mitzah Bricard appointed to the hat atelier. Fur division established. "Zigzag," "Flight" (Envol), and "Cyclone" collections shown. Christian Dior-New York, a line of ready-to-wear and accessories for the U.S. market, established with a showroom on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Fifty-seventh Street in Manhattan. Christian Dior Perfumes is also set up in New York.

1998 : Due to further scaling back of licenses, sales this year are down by an estimated $1 million; however, within a year the brand will be back in the black with $8 million in profits. (By 2005 revenues will have more than tripled.) April: Boutique opens in Tokyo's Ginza district. May: Christian Dior Rive Gauche boutique opens on the Left Bank. Actress Winona Ryder wears Galliano's bias-cut plum floor-sweeper with sheer overlay to Cannes. December: First store opens in Moscow.
